Responsibilities
What you'll do.
- Lead production of political-risk analysis across assigned coverage jurisdictions.
- Maintain structured monitoring of electoral calendars, coalition dynamics, regulatory institutional posture, and security frameworks.
- Develop and maintain political-source networks across coverage jurisdictions, with strict source-protection protocols.
- Author Briefs and Reports that produce scenarios with assigned probabilities, explicit triggers, and indicators distinguishing between scenarios.
- Calibrate output to decision-making rather than to academic completeness or narrative interest.
Requirements
What we look for.
- 3–6 years of political-risk or comparable analytical experience — political consulting, government affairs, intelligence community, foreign service, or political journalism with analytical depth.
- Working familiarity with at least one African political ecosystem at depth, plus secondary coverage capability.
- Direct experience with electoral analysis, coalition dynamics, or succession-scenario methodology.
- Strong written English; African language capability (Yoruba, Hausa, Swahili, French, Portuguese) is an advantage.
Qualifications
Educational & professional credentials.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in political science, international affairs, public policy, history, or related disciplines.
- Field experience across covered jurisdictions is highly valued.
