AI Governance Consultant

Advise institutional clients on AI governance architecture across EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, and emerging African Union AI frameworks. Translate regulatory obligations into operational governance frameworks for institutions deploying AI at scale.

Responsibilities

What you'll do.

  • Lead AI governance advisory engagements for institutional clients — financial services, healthcare, technology platforms, public sector.
  • Design AI governance frameworks compliant with applicable jurisdictional regulations, including multi-framework operating environments.
  • Develop AI-specific control libraries, risk assessment methodologies, and audit-evidence architecture.
  • Engage with regulators, multilateral institutions, and standards bodies on emerging AI policy developments.
  • Contribute to ELDR's published AI governance research output.
Requirements

What we look for.

  • 6–10 years of GRC, AI governance, or regulatory consulting experience.
  • Direct working familiarity with at least two of: EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, GDPR/UK GDPR, sectoral AI guidance.
  • Experience leading client engagements across multiple stakeholder groups (board, executive, legal, engineering, compliance).
  • Strong written and oral communication suitable for board-level engagement.
Qualifications

Educational & professional credentials.

  • Bachelor's degree minimum; Master's or JD preferred.
  • Relevant certifications: CIPP, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, AIGP, or equivalent.
